First of all congratulations to my love! He has finally completed Arabic at DLI!! He passed his final test (DLPT) with flying colors! He claims he never put in any effort but I know he busted his ass and I am so proud of him. We are now off to Texas in 20 days:) We will drive home to Colorado to surprise our families! That is what we are most excited about. we could really use some family time right now! We don't have hard copy orders yet but hopefully they should come in this week. So this means things haven't started with TMO yet. It sucks cuz we have everything ready to move except for our things. Damn Marine Corps and being slow with your orders!
Another thing is our ball is this week! On Wednesday:) I found my dress and have all my appointments set up. Plus I got to see my love in his blues 3 times in the past 3 weeks so I'm pretty excited to see him in them again this week. We have not had ANY alone time together since I've been here, which is January 21st of this year. So we are very excited to be alone, plus it's well deserved. It seems these last few weeks here in Monterey are weeks we can actually enjoy. It's been so much stress and frustration since May of last year because of this damn language.
We are ready to move on and ready for our next adventure. Brie over at the wifey blogs has made an interesting point tonight in her blog about this lifestyle. Go read it if you're a military spouse. Anyways, she really hit the nail on the head in terms of how ridiculous this life really is. I agree with her 100 percent. I have told my love a million times how we don't fit into this life and he seems to agree, 80% of the time. He loves to feel like a Marine. He's had to spend the first two years of his contract doing his MOS so he really hasn't experienced a lot of Marine things. He wants to deploy and I have no problem with it. It's what we both signed up for. But I want to be home and be with family. The thing I want the absolute most is for Elias to be with his family and be stable! This lifestyle is the worst for the babies because they suffer the most. Like Brie's daughter, he will be starting school when his contract is up so I hope we get to move home and close the Marine Corps chapter in our lives. Some days I love it and want to stay in but the cons really outweigh the pros in this life.
I hope to have fun at the ball and thank you Brie for giving me a reality check!!
Congratulations to your hubby!
